 London is a big place with other 1000 brothels as shown by the Poppy project, 'The Big Brothel'.  There must be almost as many escort agencies aswell as a large number of independent escorts.  Somehow I am going to try and improve the listings, so that areas of London can be catered for.

London Thai Sex Gang on Trial

Thai gang made millions from selling the services of 100' of escorts. 10 members of the gang face imprisonment. But because the women were charged exorbitant £30,000 "debt bondages" to pay travel costs, they were forced to sell their bodies numerous times before they were allowed to keep any of the money they made.  The Escort Agency was called Oriental Gems.  They were convicted on money laundering and control.  Trafficking charges were dropped.  They were sentenced for between a few months and two years.

Croydon

Article from the Croydon Guardian who have found brothels and escorts advertising in the windows of shops.  Shock Horror.  They do though give a fairly reliable account of the law on prostitution, though living of immoral earnings was not quite correct.  The adverts were in view of children, but they looked much more discrete than many of the national newspapers. Our reporter was offered sex services at Golden Sara Oriental Massage and Tooting Broadway Relaxing Massage, just a few feet away from Tooting Broadway tube station. Three others were in Colliers Wood, Morden and Croydon.

The police did state that there was NOT a prostitution problem on Croydon, they would only intervene and shut a place down if it was causing a nuisance.

Be very careful when visiting the brothels and flats in Croydon.  There is a group of people who have decided to photograph you and your car and publish this on the web.  After the case of Max Moseley, I do wonder if they are breaking our privacy laws and could end up in court when an enraged punter sues them.  Lets hope so.  They are trying to stop you, in the hope that this will reduce demand for sex, and stop sex trafficking.  A serious and heinous crime, but I do think there are better ways to combat this, like legalising brothels. This group calls them self  Croydon Community Against Trafficking (CCAT)

Golders Green

The long arm of the law did not have to reach very far last week to force the closure of a brothel in Golders Green after five years.  The sex parlour opposite Golders Green police station, in Finchley Road, was raided by vice squads after police received complaints from residents.  Owners of the three-bedroom house were issued with a notice to close by officers in a joint operation involving Hampstead Garden Suburb Safer Neighbourhoods team and the Metropolitan Police clubs and vice unit.  On its website, Cleopatra’s Palace was advertised as “discreet private flats in the heart of NW11” and tempted potential customers with the line: “Visit us in our truly luxurious apartments and enjoy the company of one of our delightful young ladies.”  A trader, whose restaurant is next to the entrance to the ally, said: “We didn’t have any problems that came from the brothel, but we knew it was there.  “A lot of people would be coming around this area late at night, and we knew what they were doing.”

Hendon

The Hendon Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) served a notice on the semi-detached house in Bell Lane at 6.30pm after police constable Tim Wilson, leading the operation, gained entrance by posing as a client. The notice stated the residents were in breach of Section 33 of the Sexual Offences Act and must cease trading within two months or face possible arrest.
