Bedfordshire is not a total desert for escorting.  You don't have to travel to Milton Keynes.  Some areas like Luton have had some severe police clamp downs and closure of brothels under the banner of trafficking.  When I spoke with the Luton police earlier in 2008, their intention was to close down all brothels in the town.  Sounds rather short sighted and dangerous to me.

Bedford also had a campaign of brothel closure earlier in 2008.  Some survived and are still running.  Lets hope the Bedford police allow safe working places for sex works to continue.

If you visit or work in  Southend, then be aware the police have started a campain against sex workers in response to concerns raised by residents.

During the launch of Operation Galaxy today, Southend police raided a suspected brothel in Hamlet Court Road and arrested a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of managing a brothel after being tipped off by residents.

Street work is sill happening in Ipswich
