An attack on a woman may be linked to four other sexual assaults police in Milton Keynes are investigating.

The latest incident happened on Thursday as the woman was walking through an underpass in Bancroft.

Police have advised women to walk home with friends after four linked attacks in Milton Keynes.

In an incident on Wednesday, a teenage girl was assaulted in the Downs Barn area. It followed the attempted rape of a 50-year-old woman.

In the other attacks, a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Great Linford and on 2 May a woman was walking along the Redway near Barry Avenue, Bradville, when she was approached from behind and sexually assaulted.

Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman said: "One of the active lines of inquiry is that this could be connected to the four sexual assaults but the inquiry is at a very early stage.

"This is quite a busy area and we would urge people nearby at the time of the offence to contact us. They may not realise they have seen something that could be important to our investigation. If people have seen something but are unsure if it's relevant please call us anyway."
