A RAPIST who attacked a sex worker in the street despite her desperate pleas for him to stop has been deemed a dangerous offender.

But when Philip Shaw and the sex worker walked towards a more secluded area for some privacy, he forced her over a nearby vehicle and attempted to rape her.

Deeming him a dangerous offender, Recorder Payne added: “I am required to consider the issue of dangerousness - that is whether there is the risk of significant risk of you committing further specified offences and whether there is a risk of you causing serious harm.

“I am satisfied that you do posses such a risk. In particular you present a high risk of serious harm to sex workers and those women in who you have a sexual interest.”

Five men and one woman have been jailed for running a brothel which exploited young Romanian women to be sex workers.

The gang’s business model was to advertise the sexual services of young women on the internet, and then move them from town to town across Lancashire - including towns near Bury.

“We want to offer help and advice for people who think they may be victims of human trafficking or slavery.

“There are a number of ways you can contact someone for help. You don’t have to speak directly to the police there are charities that can help you. You can also ring some services anonymously; you do not have to give your name or go to court or give a statement.”

POLICE are sending out unmarked police cars around Blackburn amid concerns punters are still visiting street sex workers, despite the coronavirus lockdown restriction.
